Self at 29

I have ginger hair. I live in Penryn, Cornwall, in a terracotta terraced house with my partner Harry. We have a plaster pink walls, red spray flowers on my old, blue trunk and candles. I am a Pisces, with a Leo rising and Sagittarius moon.

I am currently a Creative Producer for an arts organisation, developing an art centre in a former Methodist church. I facilate creative social groups for lovely people over 65 and wellbeing, whilst working on freelance projects on the side, taking photographs of independent food producers, creatives and even weddings. At the weekends, I sell lovely gin at the weekly farmer market in the Food Barn. I’m about to start a new job as a Marketing and Events co-ordinator for a community interest company, capturing their cultural development projects and renovated food hall and space. I’ve brought a new navy diary and green notebook.

My tea is a dark brown, teeny splash of milk, but peppermint in the morning. My favourite thing in the world is developing my film photos and seeing yellow daffodils in Spring. I wear wide leg trousers, French worker jackets and olive scarfs with hammered earrings. I love going for dips in little coves, charity shopping and sitting in fields in the sunshine. My partner is a teacher, working with reception children and has a passion for with special educational needs - he likes reading, making zines and going on big hikes. He is the kindness person I know and is my home.

My dream is to have my own quiet house, with flowers in the garden, wooden floors and a fireplace - I’m hoping to find our home in the next year. I listen to any music with a cow bell and love making dippy eggs on my mornings at home. I am Autistic, and still working through a PTSD diagnosis from a past coercive relationship, learning to trust myself again and recovering from a pregnancy loss at the end of last year. My body is old before it’s time, with dodgy hips, sleepless nights and chronic illnesses, though having slow days helps. Most nights are spent watching every single episode of Eastenders and love eating anything in a flatbread, from halloumi to chicken gyros.

Everything is solved with a hug, big cry and a cup of tea. I am currently reading a book about creativity alongside your place as a woman and mother, with a stack waiting from the local poetry library. I spend my weekends waking up with Irma Sundays, having pints by the harbour or sharing tasting plates at restaurants. I love going on adventures and planning our trip to Florence and Tuscany this summer, with little Wiltshire musicfestivals tied in. I see my best friends in a rented house at least once a year, but wish for more time with them.

In the next year I want to find my confidence again, boldly speak out about the hard topics and feel more myself in my worth and work. I want to build my physical strength again, but also lean into the moments of rest. I want to dance more in the kitchen and sing more in the car, meet new people and dive into the last year of my twenties.
